Generation Z will account for 40% of all consumers by 2020.

Born after 1995, Gen-Z rivals the ever-popular millennials and is made up of a new kind of customers that require careful consideration when marketing to them.

Since Generation Z accounts for US$44 billion in buying power and is the first generation that's had easy access to the Internet for most of their lives, so digital marketers need to rethink their strategies to meet the values and needs of these tech-savvy individuals.

According to a study by The National Retail Federation and IBM, young people are more inclined to follow brands that support a cause. They're "more serious about this" than any other generation, so being able to communicate a strong sense of purpose should be top of your list.
